Karl Rove has been a noted "inside-the-beltway" Republican strategist for years - and has come to be known as "The Architect" under the Bush administration.
This week, Rove introduced his latest venture "The Conservative Victory Project"- which got off to a VERY rocky start.
Said Donald Trump: Karl Rove is a total loser -So why are people still giving him money?
Statement from Freedom Works - The Empire Is Striking Back.
Rove appeared on both Sean Hannity's radio and TV show to explain the purpose of the pack. And even whipped out his famous (or infamous) White Board, to illustrate just how much money his other PAC, "American Crossroads" had donated to Tea Party Candidates in the last election cycle. He also has some disparaging words for candidates like Steve King and Todd Akin.
This touched off an incendiary response from Conservative talk show host Mark Levin. Levin worked in the Reagan administration and took issue with many of Rove's claims, at at one point, called him a "liar."
He challenged Rove's "role" in the Reagan administration, pointing out that Rove supported both Bush 41 and Bush 43. Rove appeared on "The Factor" with Bill O'Reilly and said: "For Mr. Levin, I was the director of the Texas campaign for Ronald Reagan in the fall of 1980 and was appointed by President Reagan to sit on the White House Fellows selection panel. I didn’t meet him. He didn’t meet me. But he wanted to know where the heck I was then. Well that’s where I was"
This has been disputed by Levin, who was IN The Reagan administration.
Said Levin last Monday “And I hear Rove today going on, ‘We got to do this better,’ ‘I got to do this,’ ‘Got to this,’” Levin continued. “Get the hell off the stage already, will you pal? You’re a hanger-on. I don’t say this with any personal contempt. It’s just, enough is enough. We need fresh faces in politicians. We talk about them all the time — Ted Cruz and Rand Paul and Mike Lee and Marco Rubio, and so forth. Well, we need fresh faces who are advising these people too. And I’ll be honest, some fresh faces on Fox wouldn’t hurt. It’s time for Rove to go. I can’t take it anymore.”

We’re being stabbed in the back,” Levin declared.
“Here’s a project funded by crony capitalists, funded by corporatists — who are not conservative — funding a group called the Conservative Victory Project,” Levin began. “This is the sort of thing Barack Obama does; this is a thing Marxists do; they give a name to themselves which has nothing to do with what they’re really up to in order to try and control the propaganda.”
“I’m just showing you how diabolical this effort is,” Levin continued.
“The diversity that comes to the Republican Party is through the conservative and Tea Party movement, not through the Republican establishment,” Levin said. “They backed [Charlie] Crist in Florida. They backed the moderate lieutenant governor in Texas. They put up a moderate attorney general in Kentucky to try and beat Rand Paul. They backed the moderate-to-liberal Republican longtime serving Senator Bob Bennett serving in Utah.”
So while I observe this "Clash of the Titans," I am reminded why I left the Republican Party for that of Conservatism. I plan to continue to VET each candidate carefully. And give DIRECTLY to my candidates' CAMPAIGNS. Not to a PAC and certainly not to the GOP.
