Karl Lagerfeld showed his support for gay marriage in the past. Now, he shows his support for both gay and lesbian marriage at Paris Fashion Week. The New Jersey Herald reported on Jan. 22 that the fashion designer sent two lesbian models in bridal dresses down the runway.
Two models went down as a married couple during the Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel spring and summer 2013 collection. Both models wore avant-garde wedding gowns. The dresses were designed with tons of lace and frills.
The models also wore frilly veils in their hair. They held hands as they walked down the runway. His young nephew walked along with the models.
The French media asked Karl Lagerfeld if it was nod for his support in gay marriage in the country of France. He replied, "Of course it was." He added that he didn't understand why there should be such a debate. The Chanel designer does oppose gay couples from having children through artificial insemination.
