Today I had the joy of having an appointment down at the Omaha Children's Museum for the Karl Johnson silhouette event. Karl Johnson is a Master Scissor Artist, and creates original silhouette portraits in about one minute. He has earned national recognition for his work, and has done silhouette portraits for celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Tom Cruise, and Jennifer Lopez. He does it all by freehand with paper and a scissors. It's amazing!
The Omaha Children's Museum booked him for today and tomorrow for portrait sessions, and when I found out about a month and a half ago, I had to book an appointment. I know this would be an awesome Christmas gift for both my parents and my grandmother. In about one minute, they're complete--and amazingly accurate. Both mine and my daughter's were spot on. The best part of having them done is watching him cut them--this man has clearly done this thousands of times! I got to watch him do a few children ahead of me, and it's awe-inspiring.
Luckily, I was able to get both videos and pictures thanks to the lady in line behind me willing to take video with my iPhone.
