Morning has broken on a New Year and now that the holidays are over, it is time for Houston area breweries to once again entertain and educate the public with special events, tastings, and more. Karbach Brewing had a great 2012 with more events on tap than most of its fans had time to attend and 2013 promises more of the same.
Only a short time into the New Year, Karbach already has two events scheduled for this first week of 2013: One on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 and the other on Thursday, January 3, 2013. Here is some background information:
January 2, 2013
Event: Tap Takeover Night
Where: Flying Saucer downtown Houston, 705 Main St., Houston TX
Time: 7 p.m.
This “Tap Takeover” event will feature eleven different Karbach beers and sources at the brewery say this is the greatest number of different Karbach products ever offered at a single location. It will include, of course, popular favorites such as Karbach Hopadillo IPA and Sympathy for the Lager, as well as many of the special releases and seasonal products. It is a great opportunity to taste some of the Karbach beer products you kept saying you would try last year, but never got around to sampling. A souvenir glass will be available for purchase to commemorate the event.
January 3, 2013
Event: Cask Tapping
Where: Mellow Mushroom, 16000 Stuebner Airline Rd, Spring, TX
Time: 8 p.m.
Mellow Mushroom is a national chain of restaurants known for its pizza, calzones, hoagies and, of course, beer. The Spring location will host this event, featuring the tapping of a cask of Karbach’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Hellfighter Imperial Porter. If you love the original Karbach Hellfighter Imperial Porter, then you will likely fall in love with this version. The event will feature the beer plus a Karbach glass giveaway. The evening’s festivities requires a ticket purchase from Mellow Mushroom, so be sure to call (832) 698-8888 to reserve your seat.
