Karbach Brewing: Pint nights, tap takeovers, and more

The 2013 year is still fresh and new and the folks at Karbach Brewing are wasting no time with brewery- sponsored events. Here is a list of five events Karbach has planned for the coming week, including a large event on Saturday that Karbach plans to be part of along with many other vendors:

Tap Takeover - Hay Merchant

When: Wednesday, January 16 at 6 p.m.

Where: 1100 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77006

Another takeover the taps event is planned this week, this time at Hay Merchant. The takeover will feature 11 different Karbach products, including some of the hard to find, limited release beers you heard about but never got to sample. There will also be souvenir glasses to purchase to commemorate the event.

West End Gastropub Pint Night

When: Wednesday, January 16 at 5:30 p.m.

Where: 5320 Westheimer Houston, TX 77056

This pint night event at West End Gastropub will focus on Karbach Sympathy for the Lager and, like with most pint nights, guests who purchase a pint of beer get to keep the Karbach pint glass.

Firkin & Phoenix - Bourbon Barrel Hellfighter Cask Tapping

When: Thursday, January 17th at 7:30 p.m.

Where: 1915 Westheimer Road Houston, TX 77098

Karbach plans a special tapping of a keg of Bourbon Barrel Aged Hellfighter porter at 7:30 p.m. at Firkin & Phoenix. Given the popularity of Hellfighter, this keg could be kicked in a short time, so arrive early. Firkin & Phoenix plans to give out glassware with each purchase as supplies last.

Guru Burger - Pint Night

When: Thursday, January 17th at 7 p.m.

Where: 2268 Texas Dr., Sugar Land, TX 77479

Guru Burgers is a Sugar Land favorite so why not stop by for dinner, select a delicious burger, and wash it down with your favorite Karbach brew? Better yet, you get to keep your glass when you purchase a pint of beer.

4th Annual Yaga's Chili Quest & Beer Fest

When: Saturday, January 19th at 11 a.m.

Where: Galveston Strand

This is the fourth annual Yaga's Chili Quest and Beer Fest and it begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 on the Galveston Strand. There are plenty of events throughout the day such as the Beerfooter 5K Run for Fun on Seawall, a washer tournament, a margarita making contest, jalapeno eating contest, and a Strand merchant walk-about. This event concludes with an awards ceremony and selection of the best chili. The beer and chili fest require tickets, so be sure to logon to the web site and purchase your tickets in advance.
