Karamu Theater presents ‘The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity’

Karamu Theater announces the presentation of the award winning “The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity” by Kristoffer Diaz. The show will run from March 14 through April 6, 2014 in the Jelliffe Theatre. Originally premiered in 2010 as a Pulitzer Prize finalist, “Chad Deity” is a drop-kicking and body slamming behind the scenes look at professional wrestling.

Mace is a great professional wrestler who longs for the championship that will be forever out of reach doe to the charismatic, Chad Deity. Mace discovers a young Indian-American from Brooklyn who matches the champ in charisma. When Mace gets the kid a job with the company, his boss has different ideas and features mace and the kid as terrorists. Suddenly the three wrestlers are thrown into a whole new world of predjudice.

Special Note: Preview night, March 13th at 7:30 for The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity has been cancelled. Persons holding tickets for March 13th should contact the ticketing office to select an alternative date and time at no extra cost or contacting Karamu Theater.

Regular Performance times for The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity are 8:00 p.m. Thursday to Saturdays and at 3:00 p.m. on Sundays. Ticket cost range from $20 to $25.00.
