Kara DioGuardi has officially been booted as an 'American Idol' judge. FOX has lost three of the four judges from last year as Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres quit. Randy Jackson, however, is rumored to be staying.
Replacing Kara DioGuardi on 'American Idol' will most likely be Jennifer Lopez. Both Lopez and Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler have been rumored to join the judges panel, which will reportedly go back to the three judge format.
DioGuardi joined 'American Idol' two years ago when the show expanded to four judges. She is a Grammy nominated songwriter who has penned hits for Kelly Clarkson and Gwen Stefani.
In a statement released by FOX Network on Friday Kara DioGuardi said, "I felt like I won the lottery when I joined American Idol two years ago, but I feel like now is the best time to leave Idol. I am very proud to have been associated with American Idol- it has truly been an amazing experience. I am grateful to Fox, FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, as well as the cast, crew and contestants, for all they have given to me. I look forward to my next challenge and want to thank everyone who has supported me. All the best to everyone on Season 10!"
"Kara will be missed, but it will be interesting to see how the new judges will change the dynamic of the show," tweeted one local resident. What do you think about Kara DioGuardi leaving 'American Idol?' Leave your comments below.
