When Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West’s wedding kiss photo was posted on Instagram, it broke records. It amassed over 2.28 million likes and there were over 51,000 comments. so how did this stunning photo come about? Well, according to the New York Post, Kanye spent four days of his honeymoon time perfecting the photo himself.

Kanye blames Annie Leibovitz for bailing on him the day before the wedding. Annie is the one who took the pictures of Kanye, Kim, and North for Vogue magazine. Apparently she is the only one he trusted to take perfect pictures of himself and Kim.

According to Kanye, “Let me tell you something about that kiss photo that my girl put up … this was pissing my girl off during the honeymoon, she was exhausted because we worked on the photo so much because Annie Leibovitz pulled out right before the wedding. I think that she was, like, scared of the idea of celebrity.”

Kim was not thrilled at having to photo edit the “kiss” shot in front of the wall of flowers, but Kanye was adamant that the picture had to look like Annie shot it instead of the 22-year-old British photographer, Conor McDonnell. The part of the picture that allegedly had Kanye so riled up was that the flowers were the wrong color.

“Can you imagine telling someone who wants to just Instagram a photo, who’s the No. 1 person on Instagram, ‘We need to work on the color of the flower wall,’ or the idea that it’s a Givenchy dress, and it’s not about the name Givenchy, it’s about the talent that is Riccardo Tisci — and how important Kim is to the Internet.

“And the fact the No. 1 most-liked photo on Instagram has a kind of aesthetic was a win for what the mission is, which is raising the palette."

Even if Annie didn’t shoot the picture, Kanye still had the most viewed photo in Instagram because of all his photo editing. Could this be another avenue for the rapper/designer to add to his growing list of artistic talents?
