Kanye West has donated a pair of his signature shoes, the Nike Air Yeezy 2, to RE/CREATE New York for auction on Tuesday. While any pair of the Yeezys would command a premium price on the auction block, West took it to a different level by signing the right shoe - along with a rough sketch of his trademark College Dropout Bear - for an added level of personalization.
Proceeds from the auction will go to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts all throughout the area. RE/CREATE New York is an organization put together by celebrities, fashion designers and other famous artists that donates unique items and puts them up for auction to help the cause. Other artists that are a part of RE/CREATE New York include Anne Hathaway, Marc Jacobs, Kate Moss, Alexander Wang and Julianne Moore.
The auction for the Nike Air Yeezy 2 in Black/Solar Red colorway (size 10.5) signed by West will begin bidding on Thursday, Jan. 24. Check out the link here to be notified of when the auction will be go live.
