Kanye West was on “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” on Tuesday and said that he and his fiancée Kim Kardashian have more impact than President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama is some ways, according to an ABC/Yahoo News! Report on Wednesday.
West, the very outspoken and proud 36-year-old music entertainer from Chicago, has likened himself to such persons as Micheal Jordan and even Jesus Christ in the past. Now, apparently for the first time, he has likened himself to the First Couple of the United States – the Obamas.
On the syndicated talk show, West said the people get really hung up in the way he words things – but, he proudly proclaims – that he’s the best.
In spite of his phenomenal success, West cries “race” and “classism” in frustration over being held back. He claims bias is stalling his career and also is holding back his fiancee’s career.
West says that what he wants to create isn’t about black and white, but the reason why he’s not able to create what he wants to create is about being black and is about classism. He said that that’s that wall when he took Kardashian to the Met Ball and they put it up on Vogue.com and tried to say she wasn’t there because they didn’t want a “reality show girl” there. He argued that there’s no way Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue because she’s the most intriguing woman around right now.
West claims that Barbara Walters is calling every day to get Kardashian. He said that collectively he and Kardashian are the most influential people around – especially in clothing.
He even said that no one is looking at what President Obama is wearing and Michelle Obama can’t Instagram a pic like Kardashian did. He was referring to a “selfie” that Kardashian posted to Instagram on Oct. 17. He went on to say that Kardashian, the mother of his child, is one of the most beautiful people of all time.
West stated in the interview that his goal is to break through his perceived wall of classism.
