Kanye West recently announced he was ditching his endorsement deal with Nike to partner with Adidas. And according to Life & Style magazine on Dec. 22, the rapper credits fatherhood as the reason behind the decision.
"The old me, without a daughter, would have taken the Nike deal because I just love Nikes so much. But the new me, with a daughter, takes the Adidas deal because I have royalties and I have to provide for my family," Kanye revealed in a radio interview announcing the news.
The 36-year-old designed 20 different pairs of shoes for the collection which includes men’s and women’s shoes.
"We designed the entire women's collection. We designed the entire men's collection. And we designed 20 shoes. We coming in September and it’s about to be a paradigm shift," he said in a sit down with a radio station in his hometown of Chicago.
West reportedly tried to get Adidas to bring his fiancé Kim Kardashian on board with her own women’s collection, but the brand declined.
