Kanye West made millions in just one weekend.
According to reports, the G.O.O.D Music MC traveled to Kazakhstan to perform at a private wedding ceremony. West was invited by President Nursultan Nazarbayev to provide the entertainment at his grandson’s wedding on Saturday night at Almaty’s Hotel Royal Tulip.
West was reportedly paid around $3 million to perform his biggest hits including 'Can’t Tell Me Nothing.' Guests took photos in front and with the rapper and some posted the footage on Instagram.
President Nazarbayev, considered by some a dictator, is reportedly worth billions and has stirred plenty of controversy for human rights violations and corruption.
Back in 2011, recording artist Sting, publicly rejected an invitation to perform at the Kazakh government’s Astana Day festival, citing Nazarbayev’s 'repression and crackdown' against striking oil and gas workers.
Kanye West seems to have no problem performing for Nazarbayev for a 'small' fee.
