Kanye West has been building an image in the music industry and since he has such a creative and unique name, people are eager to use his name to get some attention. And last week, some creative business people wanted to start a business in the online coin industry and decided to come up with a name that lines itself up with Kanye. But he doesn’t want to be associated with the business. According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report published on Jan. 15, Kanye West has now launched a lawsuit to stop the production of Coinye currency because of the connection to him.

Apparently, Kanye has filed a lawsuit yesterday to stop the production of the coins. The creators revealed that they wanted to make the coins with him as an inspiration and they wanted to use his image to make the coins popular. “With each day that passes, Mr. West’s reputation is irreparably harmed,” the documents from the lawsuit reveals. “Consumers are likely to mistakenly believe that Mr. West is the source of these digital coins.”

“We’d love if Kanye name dropped Coinye,” the founders said before the lawsuit was launched. “I think he’s gonna love that there’s a CURRENCY named in his honor. We don’t want to pay him off to name check us, but it’d be sick if he does so.” They actually thought that Kanye would love the idea. But after the lawsuit was filed, the website changed their message: “COINYE IS DEAD,” the currency website declared. “You win, Kanye.”

What do you think of his lawsuit?
