Kanye West boycotts the Grammy Awards after little praise for new album

Kanye West has been working hard on his new album, even though plenty of things have happened in his private life. Not only did he propose to Kim Kardashian last year, but he also became a father for the first time. This power couple are friends with Jay-Z and Beyonce and they have had a great year. According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report published on Jan. 27, Kanye West is now revealing why he didn’t attend this year’s Grammy Awards.

However, his new album, Yeezus, hasn’t gotten the attention that he had desired. He was nominated for two awards this past week, but he didn’t want to attend the show. Instead, he stayed at home with his family. “Yeezus is the top one or two album on every single list, but only gets two nominations from the Grammys. What are they trying to say?” he lamented. “F—k those nominations.”

However, he never always felt that way. During his acceptance speech for The College Dropout in 2005, he revealed, “A lot of people don’t appreciate their moment ‘til it’s past. I plan to celebrate. I plan to celebrate and scream and pop champagne every chance I get … Everybody wanted to know what I would do if I didn’t win. I guess we’ll never know.”

What do you think of him staying home?
