Kanye West and his girlfriend Kim Kardashian had to be privately screened after initially bypassing security at New York’s Kennedy International Airport, according to a Feb. 14 Associated Press report.
An airport employee apparently so smitten with the celebrity pair, allowed West and his pregnant girlfriend to bypass an airport security checkpoint. According to Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein, the celebrity parents-to-be had initially arrived at the airport on an international flight on Feb. 12.
After clearing customs control and baggage claims, an airline employee escorted the couple “through a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight.” Farbstein says bypassing the TSA checkpoint violated security protocols, prompting TSA officials to conduct private screening.
West and Kardashian were subsequently cleared to board their flight, which they had delayed for almost an hour.
