A Kanye “dangerous” quote is one recent statement in which artist Kanye West alleges that the rapper life is dangerous in some ways as cop work is, sparking some definite conversation in his followers and others this week. While Kim Kardashian’s beau is often known for his ego and claiming that he is a highly creative and underappreciated artist akin to even Jesus, West takes a new spin on his music career here, comparing it to the duties of soldiers and policemen and women, Softpedia News shares this Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013.
The Kanye dangerous line came about earlier this week while Kanye West was talking about making his music as a very serious affair. The musician and celebrity noted that being a rapper can be unsafe at times, from “serving and protecting” out on the streets or even talking about them in lyrics from a song.
In an interview this bitter December, West opened up on climbing that tough “mountain:”
“When I think about when I’m on the ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing,’ and ‘Coldest Winter’ moment, like that mountain goes really, really high. And if I slipped… You never know. And I think about it. I think about my family and I’m like, wow, this is like being a police officer or something, or like a war or something,” he noted.
The Kanye dangerous quote continues:
“Like you’re literally going out to do your job every day you know, knowing something can happen to you… verbally from the press bashing you… you know, people not liking you anymore… you could actually slip on that stage.”
Tripping on the stage of music, of rapping, or perhaps even a real stage seems a bit far-fetched to compare to the act of putting one’s life on the line to protect the innocent and one’s community as cops and soldiers do, but for Kanye, perhaps it’s just another day in the “dangerous” life of a rapper.
Do you agree with Kanye West that the rapper life can be akin to that of police work? Or is it an overstepping statement?
