To kick off 2013 Kansas Star Casino poker room has started a freeroll tournament promotion. Each month players who put in 60 hours of play will qualify for the tournament, held the first Sunday of the succeeding month. The first tournament of the year will be at noon, February 3rd.
For this first tournament a $6,800 announced prize pool will be spread over 10 places with the winner claiming $2,500. The rest of the payout is as follows: 2nd = $1,500; 3rd = $1,000, 4th = $500, 5th = $300, 6th-10th = $200.
Players will begin with $2,500 in chips. For a $10 dealer appreciation fee an additional $1,000 in chips will be added. Levels will be 20 minutes in length with a 5 minute break after every 3 levels. There are no antes and chopping is allowed.

More promotions will follow the conclusion of the tournament, which is expected to last no later than 4 pm. From 8 pm to 12 am a 'Spin To Win" promotion will be offered. Using the room's Bravo poker tracking software a player will be selected each hour to spin a wheel. The player can win $100, $250, or $1,000. If the player wins $100 that player's table will also get a $100 splash pot. Food will also be served from 4p - 8p in the room during the post tournament, "Spin To Win" Promotion.
