Kansas Jayhawk Mens Basketball hosting Oklahoma Saturday (Video)

Kansas is on a roll through the Big 12. Very few games have come easy and the majority have come down to the final minutes, final shot or overtime. Kansas is on a 16 game winning streak which is tops in the country. Overall they are 17-1 and undefeated in the Big 12. Adding a win over Oklahoma on Saturday, January 26, at Allen Fieldhouse would certainly propel them to at least number 2 in the country after number 1 Duke fell to Miami.

All Kansas needs to do is keep winning. Kansas has a +16 scoring margin, shooting 48% from the field while holding opponents to 35%, has a +6 rebounding margin and averages 7.7 blocks per game.

But, the Sooners are not looking to be another notch in the win column for Kansas. Playing its best stretch of basketball of the season the last few weeks, Oklahoma has won six of its last seven games and is tied for second place in the Big 12 with a 4-1 record. The Sooners notched a 73-67 win over rival Texas Monday to improve to 13-4 overall and 4-1 in the Big 12 Conference.

KU has dominated play at Allen Fieldhouse under head coach Bill Self, winning 101 of their last 102 games there. The Sooners haven't won in Lawrence since 1993. OU's losing streak at Allen Fieldhouse stands at 11 games.

Kansas needs to whether the OU storm and keep finding that tenacity to win tough close games. This game with Oklahoma is yet another display of a team facing the Jayhawks in need of a signature win to keep their March tournament hopes alive.

Tip off for the Oklahoma game at Allen Fieldhouse is set for 3 P.M. Central time.
