Community development professionals, business leaders invited to attend
Community developers and business leaders throughout Kansas are invited to share successes, compare challenges and plan for the future at the 2010 Kansas Downtown Symposium in Hutchinson on Oct. 20-22.
Sponsored by the Department of Commerce’s Kansas Main Street program, the Downtown Symposium will feature three days of lectures, workshops and discussion groups devoted to downtown revitalization, preservation of historic business districts and other community development issues. The Symposium also includes the presentation of the Governor’s Awards of Excellence on Main Street, which are given annually to individuals and organizations who have demonstrated outstanding commitments to downtown revitalization in the past year.
Leavenworth Main Street is an integral part of the Kansas Main Street Program and will be receiving 6 Governor’s Awards of Excellence on Main Street. We extend a special invitation to anyone in the area wishing to gain more knowledge about the main street program and its many facets that support vibrant communities to attend all or a portion of the conference, banquet and 25th Anniversary celebration party. You will be amazed at the projects, programs, business development & events that are happening around the state, all supporting revitalization within so many Kansas downtown communities.
The registration deadline has been extended to Oct. 14 and includes a $140 fee for the full conference or $65 for a one-day pass.
