Starlight Theatre, the summer Mecca for great outdoor theater and dining takes on a whole different strategy and involvement during the winter months when many people would never dream of going to the outdoor venue, but for young artists ages 6-10 they can ring in the New Year at Starlight Theatre during Frosty Fun Days, January 2 and 3 at Starlight Theatre, 4600 Starlight Road.

During Frosty Fun Days, students will warm up their imaginations while embarking on a one- or two-day journey through the world of theatre, a Starlight Theatre spokesman said. Led by theatre professionals, campers will spend each morning exploring theatre games, storytelling, music, dance and movement. Plus campers will have the opportunity to try their hands at making props. Afternoons will be spent creating a piece of live theatre (using those handmade props) to present to an audience of fellow campers during the Shivery Showoff. Each day will be a unique experience focused around a different wintery theme.

“Each Frosty Fun Day is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m. Participants must bring a sack lunch. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided. The cost is $45 for one day or $81 for both days (a 10 percent savings). Before Care is available from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. for an additional $5 per day; After Care is available from 3:50 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for an additional $15 per day,” a press release stated.

Registration forms may be downloaded from the website: beginning October 28. For more information, contact Andy Pierce at (816) 997-1134 or
