As an essential, dominating part of downtown Kansas City, Missouri's skyline, the City Hall is a great place for getting more than residential or government information:  it also houses an observation deck that offers visitors and natives alike with thrilling views of the surrounding area.

As stated on the City Hall's website, the building is a prime candidate for spectacular city views, notably because it is the third-tallest building in the city.  Located at 414 E. 12th Street in the heart of the city, and built in 1937, the building consists of fascinating art and architecture that will interest connoisseurs of both fields, as well as dazzle visitors to the area with views on par to those in other metropolitan areas, such as the Willis Tower in Chicago, IL.

After going through a brief security checkpoint to ensure the safety of all visitors to the City Hall, one may either stand under the magnificent art deco stylings of the entryways, or take an elevator up thirty stories to the observation deck.  City Hall's hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9am-3pm, and while there is no charge for visiting City Hall, it is strongly encouraged that vistiors bring a camera!

I've lived here my whole life and never knew there was an observation deck at city hall. Great pic from up there. Wish there were more. Will definitely have to check this out.
