Kansas City dogs: Events this weekend

Here are some dog-related events happening this weekend in the Kansas City metro.

Friday, Feb. 1

Shop for jeans, jewelry, Scentsy items and pet products during Girls Night Out at Queen of Paws Boutique & Spa (4515 W. 90th St., Prairie Village). Wine and food will be available. Canine companions are welcome. Girls Night Out is a benefit for Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption. The event lasts from 6 to 9 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 2

Hamburger Mary’s (101 Southwest Blvd., KCMO) hosts charity bingo from 5 to 7 p.m. for KC Pet Project.

Support the off-leash dog park in Blue Springs during the dog park’s annual chili dog dinner and silent auction. It’s from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Vesper Hall (400 N.W. Vesper St., Blue Springs).

Sunday, Feb. 3

A puppy who used to be at Wayside Waifs will be featured in this year’s annual Puppy Bowl. Aurora, a retriever/Siberian Husky mix, was one of only 50 shelter puppies from across the country chosen for the event. “Puppy Bowl IX” airs on Animal Planet in two-hour segments throughout the afternoon and evening, beginning at 2 p.m.
