Kansas City dogs: Events this week

Here's a list of dog-related events this week in the Kansas City metro.

Thursday, Jan. 24

Hamburger Mary’s (101 Southwest Blvd., KCMO) hosts charity bingo for Wayside Waifs from 8 to 10 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 26

You can literally kick off the New Year during Fitness for Fido, a benefit for Wayside Waifs. TITLE Boxing Club in Prairie Village (7600 State Line Road, Suite 208) will hold a body boxing/kickboxing class from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Participants can sponsor a bag for $25, with all proceeds going to Wayside Waifs. In addition to the workout, you’ll get a TITLE Boxing T-shirt, hand wraps and discounted membership opportunities. Call 913-385-2582 to sign up.

The Hy-Vee store at 5330 N.W. 64th St. in KCMO is offering a gourmet dog treat/cake class from 2 to 4 p.m. For $15 per person or family, you’ll make dog cookies and a dog birthday cake with icing. To register, contact Kelly at 1322clubmgr@hy-vee.com.
