Kangaroo Kids has to be the most interesting children’s resale shop in St. Louis. Where else can you shop for gently used baby clothes, sell your own used gear and have a coffee while chatting with other moms about the joys of breastfeeding?
Kangaroo Kids is located at the corner of Sappington and Manchester. If you've shopped at their old location, you'll really appreciate the new, larger parking lot and easier access to Manchester.
The front of the store has retail space with strollers, baby slings, baby furniture, books and clothes. Kangaroo Kids no longer sells used toys, thanks to the new ban on lead in children's products. The back of the store is a customer lounge where playgroups can meet. A coffee shop offers snacks to enjoy in the lounge.
Kangaroo Kids is also known as THE place to go for breastfeeding help – they not only sell and rent pumps, they host breastfeeding groups and can hook you up with an on staff certified lactation consultant. Put the staff at Kangaroo Kids together and you get 36 years of nursing experience with 13 kids! If you need help they offer free advice over the phone or drop by with your baby - no appointments needed.
Come in while you’re still expecting your little one and Kangaroo Kids can help you add to your maternity wardrobe without breaking the bank.
If you're looking to get out of the house on a Tuesday morning, come by at 11:30 am for their free "Pop In Playgroup". Kangaroo Kids welcomes other groups to come in and enjoy their space free of charge. Click here for a caledar of events.
You’ll really appreciate that the store is a family run business and the owners bring their own kids to work. They encourage their sales staff to do the same. You might see them modeling one of their trademarked and locally made “Slingaroo” child carriers. Ask them for a demonstration to see how practical and simple the device is and you’ll end up buying one. I did.
