Kandi’s career affected by love and Porsha’s husband might be controlling

For the first time this season, Porsha was the focus of this episode. She’s juggling helping Cynthia put on a kid pageant show and planning Kordell’s 40th Harlem Night’s - themed birthday party.

We see more of the interaction between Porsha and her hubby, which begs the question – Is Kordell controlling? When Porsha feels like Cynthia’s staff is disrespectful to her she shares the incident with Kordell. Instead of him just listening he tells her she better “handle it” like a dad would scold a child.

Porsha meets up with Cynthia to “handle it” but she gets handled instead. Cynthia gives her the boot for her lack of participation with the project.

While all of this is taking place Kenya undergoes a biopsy to see if she has breast cancer. Bravo goes all in showing the doctors removing tissue from her breasts to be tested. This was such a sad scene watching her lay on the table enduring the needles and ultrasound and wiping the tears away.

Kandi admits she hasn’t been focused on her career as much since she and Todd purchased a home together. Kandi’s manager is concerned about it, especially since she takes a couple of calls from Todd in the middle of the meeting. “It’s supposed to be okay to be at least a little unfocused when you fall in love.” Kandi says. And her weight gain sparked another concern. Could Kandi be pregnant?

Guess who shows up to Kordell’s birthday party? The one and only Walter. Kenya’s ex. He lets Kordell and Peter know that he and Kenya are no longer together. Kordell makes it his business to confront Cynthia and attempt to resolve the disagreement between her and Porsha, which really was only an issue to Porsha. Cynthia clearly had moved on prior to the party.

“Kordell is gonna have to let Porsha be a big girl and let her fight her own battles.” She also adds that he is coming off as controlling and calls him dad. Cynthia is getting good at the side digs.

Spoiler alert below if you haven’t watched the episode yet:

Kenya didn’t have cancer (thank God!) and Kandi isn’t pregnant...yet.
