Kandi Burruss, star of the "Real Housewives of Atlanta," has embarked on a plan to lose 20 pounds in one month. The 5-foot-7 Burruss, who weighs 157 pounds, wants to slim down to 137 pounds within the next four weeks, she wrote on Facebook.

To that end, Kandi has been doing rigorous workouts with her trainer, Kenya Crooks, who said on Instagram, “I’m going to help Kandi Burruss lose 20 lbs in 30 days, baby! # The Real Housewives of Atlanta meets The World’s Greatest!”

Burruss hasn't revealed what type of diet or workout routine she plans to follow, but commented that her most recent workout was brutal.
Kandi has made no secret of her weight struggles, and frequently discussed her love of eating on the "Real Housewives of Atlanta." She recently revealed that her favorite snack is Popeye's fried chicken.

Kenya Moore Fat-Shamed Kandi

On season six, Kandi was the butt of co-star Kenya Moore's fat jokes. Moore, a former Miss USA, repeatedly joked that Burruss could afford to skip a meal or two. In response, Burruss dismissed Moore's fat digs and proclaimed that said she loves her curvy body. "Well [Kenya] says I need to miss a few meals, but I say I'm fabulous!" she wrote in a caption to an Instagram photo.

Moore, who was crowned Miss USA in 1993, credited rigorous workouts and a healthy diet for her fit physique. "If you have been watching the show, it’s obvious that I work out five to six times a week," Moore wrote on her Bravo blog. "I have 18 percent body fat at 5-foot-10 and weigh a healthy 145 pounds."

Kenya says her glutes are the product of dedicated gym workouts and healthy eating, not butt implants or silicone injections, as her nemesis and co-star Phaedra Parks has repeatedly alleged.

Moore and Burruss aren't the only "Real Housewives of Atlanta" stars who are serious about diet, exercise and weight loss. In 2013, NeNe Leakes credited a portion-controlled diet and rigorous workouts for her 20-pound weight loss. Earlier this year, Cynthia Bailey revealed she lost weight after getting undergoing surgery to remove her non-cancerous uterine fibroids.

Cynthia, a former model who runs a modeling agency, said she experienced weight gain, chronic fatigue and a loss of sex drive due to her fibroids. Similarly, former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kim Zolciak Biermann recently credited diet pills and cardio exercise for her 50-pound weight loss just eight months after giving birth to twins.
