I could hardly believe the news this morning, when I saw searches for "Kandi Burruss fiance died" and "AJ Jewell dead" and "RIP AJ" and "AJ Jewell killed" on Google Trends. (Varying reports call AJ Jewell either Kandi's current or ex fiance.)
Unfortunately, this isn't some internet rumor. A.J. Jewell, fiance of The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Kandi Burruss, has been killed after suffering a head injury outside of a strip club in Atlanta named The Body Tap Club.
Ashley "A.J." Jewell, pictured here, appeared on quite a few episodes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, with Kandi Burruss acting as the go-between amid AJ and Kandi's mom, who was pretty open about not liking the man whom her daughter intended to marry.
Cops have confirmed that AJ Jewell died after getting into an altercation with a suspect and suffering a severe head blow -- Jewell was transported to Piedmont Hospital, where AJ was later pronounced dead.
Kandi Burruss' rep says she is in shock, speechless over her fiance's death.
Many of her fans are stunned as well, and prayers of strength go out to the favorite, down-to-earth RHOA participant, who was just shown experiencing such a high point in her life with her new song, singing, "I fly above all the haters."
Ashley Jewell was shown prominently in the episode, dining outside with Kandi -- and later in the front row, dancing around in the background with someone, supporting Burruss in her singing comeback endeavors.
AJ Jewell was reportedly father to six children -- and Kandi Burruss always prided AJ Jewell on taking care of all of them.
Our deepest sympathies are with the loved ones and family and friends of AJ Jewell.

Words can't soothe the pain you are feeling right now. Only God can give you comfort to help you understand. Death is something that most of us don't want to face for ourselves or our loveones. Kandi from watching you on TV and not knowing your personally you bring a different vibe to the show. What you brought to AJ life was just what he needed to help him make it through. Sometime the choices we make have outcomes we are not ready for. Just know that AJ love you with all his heart/soul it's just God loved him more. May God give you the strength you need to make it during this time in your life. I know after all this over with time you will have one heck of an album. You sing from the heart and about your life. I just watched an episode,and @ the end they dedicated it to the "memory" of AJ!I'm so sad........for those children,Kandi,and his entire family.I will keep them all in my prayers!
My deepest sympathy to Kandie and family. When I watched last weeks episode & seen that AJ had passed I felt like I was supposed to pick up the phone & call Kandie to make sure she was okay and be there for her. Kandie's personality is so real & likeable on the show i feel like I know her. After the accident & now this....Kandie I know you dont like to read the blogs bc of everything negative but if you do read this...please keep your head up. Dont stop being the person you are, God works in mysterious ways & I know you must feel like its one thing after another but God has a bigger plan for you. Its obvious that you deserve nothing but the BEST and I wish you nothing but happiness in life...just remember thru all the tears and pain...at the end of the day when one door closes another one opens... My prayers are w/ you & your daughter...I was a fan of you & AJ's relationship...From what I saw on TV, he loved you & your daughter genuinely & thats all that matters! God Bless You AJ...
