Kanawha/Charleston Humane Association hosts fall and holiday events

Cooler weather brings to mind many fall and winter activities. For dog owners this includes some holiday celebrations that include your four-legged family member. In addition these activities benefit the Kanawha/Charleston Humane Association to support the spay/neuter program, rescue efforts, and adoption of homeless dogs and cats. http://www.wvanimalshelter.com/

Always a good time for everyone, the Howl-o-ween pet parade will be held at 11:00am on October 13th, 2012. This event is held at the shelter. Please arrive at least 1/2 hour early to register. Categories to be judged will include prettiest, most original, scariest, and best former shelter pet. A 50/50 raffle drawing will also be held. Fee will be $5.00 per entry and/or a donation item for the shelter. Items needed include dry or canned dog or cat food, cleaning supplies, or cat litter.

Pictures with Santa will be hosted at the shelter on November 17, 2012. This event is by appointment, although walk-ins may be done if time allows. These will be done by a local professional photographer. This will be an all day event. Call for your appointment time (304) 342-1576. Normal business hours for the shelter are Monday through Saturday 12:00pm to 6:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm to 3:00pm.
