Kamryn Renfro is a 9-year-old girl who's friend is battling cancer. Renfro decided to shave her head to support her friend but the brave gesture got her in a boatload of trouble. On March 25, MSN News reported that Renfro was banned from her school -- Caprock Academy Charter School -- because her hairstyle broke the school's dress code.
"The school board's chairwoman says the school's the dress code is designed to promote uniformity and a non-distracting environment. She said exceptions can be made under extraordinary circumstances. The board will decide whether they should make an exception," reports MSN News.
Kamryn Renfro was told that she could head back to school but the aforementioned board meeting is set to take place this evening. It's hard to imagine the school not allowing Renfro to continue going to her classes given the situation but the school has to abide by its policy which is why Renfro was kicked out to begin with.
Naturally this story is causing quite a bit of debate on the Internet this week. Most people can't imagine a young girl being barred from school because she shaved her head in honor of her cancer-stricken friend. You can check out the video above for more.
Should Kamryn Renfro be allowed back at school?
