There is nothing like being a part of something where you enjoy it and see others enjoy it as well. For Hip Hop recording artists Jaroc and Freeze music is that something, and together they created the group Kamp Hustle, sharing it with the world since the mid-nineties.
In a recent interview with Conversations LIVE they talked about what has been the key to their success and longevity. "We've had our ups and downs and we're still here," they said. "We still able to make good music for the fans."
Freeze says that he was encouraged by his cousin Jaroc to get better as an artist. That has helped him not only in building his confidence but giving his all. "Being in a group we have to have that chemistry and stay true to our roots," he says. "It has really been about doing what we love and not letting anyone tell us what we can't do."
Both of the guys are believers of the simple truth that when you put out greatness that is what you get back. "That's what drives me," says Jaroc. "I know it's people out there rooting for us. It gives me the drive to continue knowing that people out there enjoy our music."
That drive takes them from the studio all the way to the stage where live performances allow them to actually feel the energy coming from the audience. "It's such a rush," they say. "Definitely a feeling like no other."
Kamp Hustle sees the recognition they are getting as proof that they are on the right path and are doing the right thing with their career. "Without us being together we couldn't get that kind of feedback and response," says Freeze.
What is there advice for anyone out there who has a dream? "Never give up," says Jaroc. "Life is what you make it. If you do nothing you get nothing. Go out and work hard and stay on your grind. You'll see things happen." Freeze concurs: "You have to be focused, be diligent at what you do and surround yourself with people who want to see you succeed. If you keep God first and foremost you can't go wrong."
