When actress Kaley Cuoco joins Shatner, it won't be "to go where no man's gone before." Instead, "The Big Bang Theory" actress will play a part in a new Priceline ad campaign.
A report today Jan. 9 from Metromix New York details the concept of the new advertisements in which Cuoco will star as the daughter of William Shatner's character, the Negotiator. Apparently the 27-year-old Cuoco will be brought in to help make the company's ads more appealing to a younger crew, whereas Shatner is typically more appealing to an older generation, basically all those "Star Trek" fans.
Cuoco and Shatner have already taped several ads which will begin on Jan. 14. They will shoot at least two more ads over the summer of 2013. One of the newest spots is already available on YouTube to check out.
Of the pairing, Kaley noted the "Star Trek" and "Big Bang Theory" nerd factor were definitely helpful in the connection. Cuoco said:
"The nerdy factor, the Trekkie stuff, it goes with 'Big Bang' and it all worked together."
Kaley Cuoco currently stars on the hit CBS sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" as Penny, while Shatner first rose to fame as Captain James T. Kirk on the "Star Trek" television series. While "Big Bang" shows new episodes, "Star Trek" is often seen in re-runs and marathons on different channels. Viewers can watch "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS via local affiliate station WDBJ 7.
