Young, 28, was accidentally kneed in the forehead while attempting to duck under a punch from one of her training partners, and she was rushed to the hospital immediately following the incident.
Young took to Twitter to let fans know she was stitched up by a world-class plastic surgery team at North Memorial Hospital, and that she is healing up just fine.
The standout bantamweight told her Twitter followers that the injury isn't very painful.
She's more concerned about the cut opening up during her next fight.
"@Harry1474 It's above the eye, so it can be a fight stopper. None of my previous cuts have opened though, so I'm hoping its a non-issue," Young tweeted.
Young is one of the toughest women in MMA, so it's clear that the cut on her forehead won't keep her sidelined for long.
The next Invicta FC event will likely be held in March, so time will tell if the cut will keep Young off the card.
Stitches usually heal with two weeks, so that pushes Young's training back to mid-February. That would leave approximately one month for her to prepare for the Invicta FC 8 card, if she happens to be on it.
Young fell short in each of her past three fights, but she did better than her record would indicate. Besides a TKO loss to Leslie Smith, Young held her own against Liz Carmouche and also went the distance with Lauren Murphy.
If anyone can bounce back from a gruesome injury, it's Young.
