Yesterday (Oct 27) It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Kaitlin Olson revealed to People Magazine that her and husband Rob McElhenney are expecting the birth of their second son in spring 2012. The two met while working together on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which premiered in 2005. They married on September 27, 2008 in California, had their first child together, son Axel Lee on September 1, 2010.
In Olson's People interview she states, “We found out I was pregnant during my mom‘s birthday weekend in Ojai. I was instantly so proud of this baby for already knowing how to make someone else’s special day all about him.” The always saucy 36-year-old actress also joked, “We’re so happy that Axel gets to have a brother so close in age. And that I get to add another set of balls to my very, very male world.”
The couple's first child together, Axel Lee, is 13 months and Olson was noticeably pregnant with him while shooting It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season six. Her pregnancy was written into her character Sweet Dee's storyline, which wound up providing some great material, and laughs throughout season six.
For Olson's second pregnancy it looks like It's Always Sunny will not have to work in a storyline since her due date is well before season eight will start shooting. There must be something in the water over at the It's Always Sunny set because Charlie Day and his wife Mary Elizabeth Ellis are expecting their first child in December 2011, and Glenn Howerton and his wife Jill Latiano recently welcomed their first son together.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is currently airing season 7 on FX.
