Kailyn Lowry of “Teen Mom 2” has stayed mostly quiet about her second pregnancy, but now that she is getting closer to her due date, she is revealing more details. First, she talked about potential baby names (she is set on a boy’s name, but still has not decided on a name for a girl) and on October 3, she talked about encapsulating her placenta, a move that she has not received much support with.

The “Teen Mom 2” star tweeted, “Nobody is on board with me encapsulating my placenta.”

One follower agreed that the move was “gross” and wondered why Kailyn Lowry would want to keep her insides, Kail clarified, “not keeping it. Eating it.”

As can be imagined, this took many of her followers by surprise, but it isn’t really that uncommon of a practice. In fact, there are many benefits to eating the placenta. “Encapsulating” means that Kailyn Lowry likely intends on cooking then blending the placenta to be capsulized into pills. The mother is then able to take these pills and reap the many benefits.

Would you ever consider consuming your placenta after giving birth?
