Kasey Kahne started strong at Texas Motor Speedway last Sunday, running in the top 10 for most of the day. Late race engine problems ended his hopes of winning and he finished the race in 33rd position. The finish dropped him from 9th to 10th in the standings.
Heading to Phoenix this weekend Kahne hope to turn it around. His Chase run has been a roller coaster ride. Full of highs and lows. He needs to finish strong to remain in the top-10. Kahne hasn't had 2 bad finishes in a row so if that trend continues he should have a shot at posting a top 10 finish on Sunday.
Kahne has never won at Phoenix, but he does have one top-5 and 3 top-10's at the track. With no chance of winning the Sprint Cup Championship Kahne hopes to finish as high as possible in the standings and build momentum for next season.
