Kafka's Metamorphosis brought to life at Paramount

Musicals not normally your cup of tea? What about a surreal tale of man transformed into a giant cockroach all scored by the father of goth rock, Nick Cave.

ArtsEmerson hosts a theatrical staging of Kafka's classic short story Metamorphosis at the Paramount Center Mainstage, February 27th through March 3, with a production that's bound to include laughs, gasps and haunting visuals.

The show, co-produced by the Vesturport Theatre of Iceland and the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre of London promises to be " fantastic and horrific; surprisingly funny and very sad."

Along with Kafka's dark vision and Cave's unique sound, the production also boasts "daring aerial action" as actors portray Kafka's topsy-turvy world of the play with gravity defying acrobatics on a set designed by Borkur Jonsson.

Performances take place at the Paramount Center Main Stage (559 Washington Street, Boston). Tickets are $25-$75.For more information and tickets visit https://artsemerson.org or call 617.824.8400
