Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers are resting comfortably after wrapping up the NFC West title last Sunday.
Kaepernick completed 16-of-28 passes for a career-high 276 yards as the 49ers beat the Arizona Cardinals 27-13 at Candlestick Park. The victory clinched the division title for the 49ers with an 11-4-1 record.
The victory also gave the 49ers a much-needed bye this week through the wild card round of the NFL playoffs. The 49ers will open their quest for their first Super Bowl title in 18 years on Jan. 12 at Candlestick Park.
Kaepernick finished the regular season with a 5-2 record as the 49ers starter. The second-year pro completed 136-of-218 passes this season for 1,814 yards, 10 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
The 25-year-old Kaepernick only carried the ball three times against the Cardinals for five yards and finished the season with 415 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
Kaepernick connected with Michael Crabtree for touchdown passes of 49 and seven yards against the Cardinals. Crabtree caught eight passes for 172 yards against Arizona and has turned into Kaepernick's favorite target.
