Kacie Bitzenburg was crowned Miss Canyon County 2013, the Miss Idaho Organization announced on Sunday via Twitter.
The crowning made her eligible to enter the Miss Idaho Pageant. If she wins at the state level, she will represent Idaho at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City.
She is a graduate of Filer High School.
"I am currently a senior at Boise State University, majoring in English with a writing emphasis," she wrote in her profile for Wix.com. "I will graduate from BSU in December 2012, after which I plan on attending graduate school, majoring in English/writing and editing, and further honing my writing skills."
“I'm a fun-loving, feisty redhead who can't wait to take on the world,” she wrote on her Facebook page. “I love my chaotic life, running in the foothills, and chocolate.”
She is a member of the varsity Boise State University Cross Country and Track and Field teams, and has volunteered at the Idaho State Veterans Home.
