Kabbalah in operational terms means that one thought flows from another sometimes carried by another as is explained below. We cannot receive without giving. This impulse is more than natural. Kabbalah too is a holy conversation above meant to be shared below even as a basis for discussion.
The truth of the moment is that it is ever changing becoming mostly what we do not expect
Some might say what do I get out of this in terms of okay I am learning, okay I am teaching.
However we must not lose sight of the imperative that we are here for the sake of Hashem and every opportunity to connect is precious.
If we look at the Zohar this is exactly what takes place. The sages there have a series of conversations. These conversations are examples of how something from nothing comes to be intellectually with Torah as a guiding principle both to relate to and draw inferences from. All of this takes place for the purpose of making unifications both above and below.
Like the worlds of Sephiroth interface within each other every teaching produces a lesson and every lesson a teaching. Does this sound like a mystery? It is truly. Every awakening within produces an opening above leading to more of the same endlessly worlds without end.
For example: You receive or listen to a teaching that is wonderful because of what it inspires within you. Your thoughts rise above and new connections are made.
Beyond what is given there is that which resides on top riding as it were as a carrier wave of influence guiding and directing providing just the right amount of impetus meant to win the day. This may be seen during prayers when we say the words and yet our thoughts tend to flow in their own direction.
It is after all that overriding carrier wave of influence that turns out to be the goal of kabbalists who recognize that the deeper meanings of mysticism found in the sacred writings are there to encourage this type of cognition. It becomes then a special case of thought if you are able to recognize not just the thought but the impression of thought that resides as carrier wave above.
Most of the time we are blessed B"H if we are able to pick up the underlying thoughts that emanate from on high. However, a time will occur when the carrier wave becomes clear and there is no longer any need for an intermediary. Then the knowledge and its antecedent come directly to you as if all the doors have now been held open by an attention that suddenly realizes it is watching itself!
Then comes the pause. Call it the space between two breaths. When there is a conscious recognition of this 'special time' it may be lengthened sometimes indefinitely but usually only long enough to provide the key to another opening within.
Momentum is the key to this whole thing for what is it truly that we are trying to find out? Isn't it the experience of Hashem as much as we may embody-conceive of in this limited form? That is why we are constantly probing the mystery and in effect sending up the antenna of our intention causing it to flow as one with those precious moments we perceive as our connection above.
