The “First Path” is Keter, the Crown. Keter is at the peak of the Tree of Life.
The First Path is Named the Mystical Intelligence (Sekhel Mufla שכל מופלא ). This is the Supreme Crown (“Keter”), for it is the Light of the First Principle, the Ancient One who has no Beginning, the Primal Glory, whose existence no created living being can comprehend, nor whose Presence withstand.
Keter, the Crown, is also known in the Literature as the Macroprosopus. This is a Latin Word, borrowed from Greek (makros great + prosopon), and means “Greater face”, or, in more flowery language, the “Greater Countenance”.
This is a translation of the Aramaic “Arikh Anpin” (ןיפנא ךירא). By extension, “Macroprosopus” can also refer to the entire Universe. The Macroprosopus descends through all levels of Creation, but progressively more concealed.
In the Tarot, Keter correlates to the Four Aces. These, in turn, relate to Keter in the Four Worlds, Atsilut (“Proximity”), Beriah (“Creation”), Yetzirah (“Formation”), and Assiah (“Action”). Aces, in general, mean new beginnings. When an Ace appears in a Reading it should be taken very seriously It is Time to review.
The Ace of Wands, representing Keter in Atsilut, is a Symbol of Great Power and new beginnings. The Ace of Wands speaks of initial potential, so it has to do with planning. The Time indicated is when plans are still forming, so Energy must be focused on the project at hand.
The Ace of Cups is Keter in Beriah, signifying feeling, possibly even romantic love. There is also an inkling of Spiritual change and Inspiration. It is Time for new Ideas, and change.
The Ace of Swords, relating to Keter in Yetzirah, indicates a pure and strong form of thought and means pure, Mental Energy. It indicates a Time for Decision. Swords are cards of action; it may be Time to rethink one’s Life!
The Ace of Pentacles, as Keter in Assiah, generally refers to the physical World. This can mean worldly possessions, or the body. In a reading, it could mean, for example, a birth, new job, a Time to pay attention to health, or Abundance.
Traditionally, the Color for Keter is White, although, logically, it should be the Neutral Gray. Again, the “Primum Mobile”, was correlated to Keter, but the recently-discovered Pluto makes much more sense. The Name of God is AHYH, “Ehyeh”, the Name revealed to Moses. The Archangel is Metatron and the Angels are the Chayot HaKodesh, the “Holy Living Creatures”.
In Nova Thought, Keter would relate to Gray, the Road, the Number Ten, the Sushumna Nadi, the Character of the Traveller, and the Rune Raidho. Let’s not forget the Kabbalistic Attribution to the Hebrew Letter, Alef.
