Thursday, November 14, Psycho Suzi’s and are throwing K9s Gone Savage: A Luau to Benefit the Police K9 INvest Project. The organization, which was founded earlier in 2013, focuses on raising money to purchase protective gear for Minnesota’s K9 police units. Protective gear for just one dog costs $2600.00.

Every day, both human and canine police units enter dangerous situations while keeping our communities safe. The highly trained canine units face danger without the protection of gear. Since 2010, seven police dogs have either been killed or injured so critically they had to be euthanized; many others have suffered from knife and gun wounds.

“There are currently 15 Minneapolis Police K9, and we have four covered, but 11 are unprotected. We want to change that and protect them all,” commented Kim Maria Kramer, founder of Police K9 INvest Project. “These canine officers are exposed to conditions of explosives, knife injuries, and the threat of being shot. The vests are tested for threat protection and found to be effective in defeating or minimizing injures in most cases.”

Thursday, November 14, head to Psycho Suzi’s for K9’s Gone Savage and help the Police K9 INvest Project reach their goal of providing protection for all of our Minneapolis K9 Units. Tickets are 25$ and include live music by Exotik-a-gogo, chances to win prizes, and an opportunity to meet veteran K9 Maui and recent K9 graduate, Simon. Psycho Suzi’s also offers delicious pizzas and pupus along with a variety of tasty specialty tiki drinks and local craft beers.
