Sunday afternoon from 3PM - 5PM the Beehive hosted a party for man's best friend to benefit the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Dogs who attended the event were able to sample a “beeftini,” a blended brew of beef broth; a “veggie Mary,” doggie vegetable juice or the “tail wagger,” a smokey chicken broth, for $1 each.
The K9 cocktails were made from scratch in the Beehive kitchen and served at room temperature on the plaza in front of the restaurant. For an additional $1, dog's could have an iced Martini shaped biscuit from the Polka Dog Bakery. Bowls for the K-9 cocktails were provided by the Bark Place Spa & Boutique as was a $200 basket of doggie delights to be raffled off.
Many owners bringing their dogs to party sat at tables in the Beehive's outdoor space and refreshed themselves by ordering from the Beehive menu while their dogs enjoyed their cocktails and biscuits. Other owners stood or sat off to the side while their dogs enjoyed the treats, made new friends and posed for pictures.
