Nestled in Cherry Creek North, JW Marriott is already surrounded by astonishing artworks. From glasswork at the esteemed Pismo Gallery to modern masterpieces found at Fascination Street Gallery. Visitors can even create their own piece at Canvas and Cocktails. Home to an impressive art collection of its own already, JW Marriott is partnering with Christie’s, the world’s leading art business, to bring to the public an impressive pop-up collection of masterworks and timepieces from the 19th Century.

Rarely is one afforded such an up-close and personal experience with well-known artworks. Artists such as Pablo Picasso, Thomas Moran, Vincent Van Gogh, and Edgar Degas are known the world over, and their pieces are included in this special showing. Even more impressive is the fact that patrons with deep pockets can purchase the pieces from Christie’s at their major auctions. This preview is a perfect up-close encounter.

“Christie’s is thrilled to have the opportunity to share with those in Denver these star lots from our upcoming Spring sale season, across the collecting fields of American Art, Impressionist & Modern Art, 19th Century European Art, and Watches,” said Liz Sterling, Head of American Art at Christie’s in New York. “We are particularly excited to display Thomas Moran’s large-scale masterwork, The Grand Canyon of the Colorado. Painted in 1904, this panoramic view captures the majesty and allure of the American West in an awe-inspiring vista.”

Open to the public April 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. this will be an art enthusiast’s destination exhibition not to miss.

“We are beyond excited to help Christie’s showcase these incredible pieces,” said Dave Pease, General Manager of the JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek, “We have long been dedicated to supporting the arts in Colorado and are proud to serve as the official host hotel of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. This will truly be a unique event for Denver’s art scene.”
