JW Jones is a Canadian blues guitarist, singer and band leader, who in the last decade, has released seven albums and played in 19 countries and four continents. He continues to tour extensively and is in Key Largo the next two evenings, Feb. 6 and 7, playing a free blues concert at 6:30 p.m. at the Bayside Grille, mile marker 99.5 bayside. He last played at Bayside Grille a year ago in January.

Jones, who lives in Ottawa, Ontario, also has performed at blues festivals, theaters and clubs in Canada, Europe, Russia, Australia and Brazil. So, Keys residents and visitors may wish to put on their best flip flops and go see him at Bayside Grille, home of a bar and restaurant ready to enrich guests' listening pleasure with great refreshments and a colorful Florida Keys sunset.

JW Jones kicks off the Bayside Bluesfest which continues through March 16. Bayside Grille Owner Robert DiGeorgio said it's a first for the Upper Keys to host so many great blues bands of international calibre.

Incredible artists are bringing a wonderful, deep and rich musical history, said DiGiorgio. “For example, Todd Wolfe has been lead guitarist for Sheryl Crow and Carla Olson and his original songs have been covered by such great artists as Faith Hill and Stevie Nicks. He will play Sat., Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. Joel DaSilva’s résumé includes performances with heavy hitters like B.B. King, A.C. Reed, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and Reverend Horton Heat and he has been the opening act for J.J. Grey, Nick Curran, the Smithereens, Foghat, Los Lobos, The White Stripes, The Black Crowes, Nighthawks and Jimmie Vaughan.”

The event is sponsored by DiGiorgio’s Café Largo and Bayside Grille and will be held at their location in downtown Key Largo at 99530 Overseas Highway, Key Largo.
