Defending champions Juventus FC failed to maintain a 2-0 lead over Giuseppe Rossi and ACF Fiorentina on Sunday morning for Round 8 of Serie A. Fiorentina, at home, came back in the second half to win it 4-2.
Juventus FC needed the win this Sunday morning to only be two points aways from the current leader of the Italian soccer league, Roma. Instead, the loss against ACF Fiorentina put the defending champs in third by five points.
SSC Napoli is in second place with the same points as Juventus but has a better goal differential.
Juve took the lead in the first half with a penalty goal by Argentine striker Carlos Teves and a goal by French midfielder Paul Pogba.
Things looked good for Juve, but Fiorentina came out gunning with American-born Giuseppe Rossi, who got a hat trick. The first goal for Rossi was made with a penalty.
The third goal for Fiorentina was made Spaniard midfielder Joaquin. Rossi closed the day with the fourth goal for the Lilies.
For Round 9, Juventus FC plays 15th-placed Genoa, and ACF Fiorentina plays 19th-placed Chievo Verona.
