As first reported here, District Attorney Seth Williams said that he has has charged three juveniles as adults stemming from a vicious attack they were allegedly involved with last week at 22nd and Norris Streets in North Philadelphia. That means instead of a short stint in a juvenile facility they will be doing time in a real prison, with real criminal records that will follow them where ever they go.

It also means that instead of news media reporting that their names are withheld, we can tell you that Nijee Bilaal 15, Zaria Estes, 15 and Kenesha Gainey 16 have been charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, conspiracy and several other related charges. Bilaal has been set at $75,000 for Bilaal and Estes. and $100,000 for Gainey. This all but guarantees them to be kept behind bars until their trial is over.

Should they be convicted , the time spent behind bars will be credited towards their sentence.

The attack stemmed from an altercation with a young girl walking with her boyfriend when she was accosted by this gang of children who began to push her. When she pushed them away, they allegedly swarmed her and one of them is alleged to have smashed her in the face with a brick. Then then allegedly tried to rob the boyfriend before fleeing on a SEPTA bus, police said.

The entire event was caught on surveillance camera and released to the media. The girls were arrested less than 24 hours after the video was was released, showing their faces.
