It was obvious that his comeback would be successful but no one thought it would be this successful.
Industry experts have predicted the sales of Justin Timbelake's '20/20 Experience' and the number is beyond impressive.
According to Hits Daily Double, one-day sales of ’20/20′ see it on course to boast first week US numbers of 750,000 – 800,000. These kind of numbers are unheard of in music today. Selling over 200,000 units in the first week is considered a feat. Therefore, this is beyond astonishing.
Much of the credit is given to Timberlake's relentless promotion over the past few months. From performing at the Grammys, hosting Saturday Night Live to taking over Jimmy Fallon's talk show for a week - Justin has not had a moment's rest since releasing 'Suit & Tie'.
But strategic marketing isn't the only reason 'The 20/20 Experience' is such a success. The music speaks for itself. Yes, the album contains lengthy songs, a lot of which probably won't boast commercial success as singles. However, the whole body of work is carefully thought out and simplified genius.
It's not every day that we see an artist give quality music that pleases both fans and critics. Hopefully, there will be a repeat performance in November when Timberlake releases the sequel.
'The 20/20 Experience' is available on iTunes.
