It was announced today on Facebook that Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z will embark on a twelve city US Legends of the Summer tour that will bring them to Chicago at Soldier Field on July 22. This will mark the duos first tour together and comes in support of Justin’s new album “the 20/20 Experience," which was produced by Jay-Z.
The once in a lifetime tour will kick off in Toronto on July 17 and then continue on to New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Hershey, Detroit, Baltimore, Boston, and Philadelphia. The duo plans to more iconic venues then just Soldier Field including Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, and the Rose Bowl.
Timberlake found huge success with his sophomore album “FutureSex/LoveSounds” in 2006. The album included the hit songs "My Love," "Sexyback," "Lovestoned," "What Goes Around" and "Until the End of Time." He last toured in support of that release, which went on to win him two Grammys.
After conquering the music world Justin then decided to put his career on hiatus to become an actor. He showed promise in early roles and has gone on to become one of Hollywood's most bankable young stars. Timberlake has won critical praise for his work in the films "Bad Teacher," "Friends with Benefits" and "the Social Network."
Jay-Z is a multiplatinum selling rap artist and producer. His recent work with Kanye West came after Jay-Z claimed to have retired. He later went on to marry superstar Beyonce Knowles. He produced and raps on Justin’s lead single “Suit & Tie," which has come out to mixed reviews.
Tickets go on presale for Citi card members on Feb. 22 and a Facebook presale will be held on Feb. 27. If you miss both of these they will go on sale to the public at Ticketmaster on Thursday Feb. 28.
