Justin Moore said thank you to his fans on April 7, 2014 on his Facebook page following his “2014 ACM New Artist of the Year” win. Moore headed into “The 49th Annual ACM Awardsposting “Tonight is the night! A big thanks to everyone that helped me get this far. Let's bring it home!!” WOOO!!”

Moore got his wish and walked away from “The 49th Annual ACM Awards” with the trophy in his hand and ended the night by saying “That was incredible y'all. #LettinTheNightRoll #ACMs” following his “2014 ACM New Artist of the Year” win.

Moore made his feelings very clear about how he won the award by posting “Y'all are responsible for this award! Enjoy this! We did this together!” and kept the thanks going by adding “And all you freakin rock! Anytime my fans are allowed to have their voice heard, it is heard LOUD And CLEAR! Thank you so much!” on Twitter.

The “ACM New Artist of the Year” nomination Moore received initially raised some controversy about Moore being considered as a new artist because his debut single was released almost six years ago. Moore said “Throughout the history of this award, people have won it well into their careers. Kenny Chesney won it five, six, seven years after his first album.”

Academy of Country Music CEO Bob Romeo discussed the new artist nominations controversy by saying "We'll look at changing the title to an emerging artist award. A lot of artists have been out there who haven't achieved initial success and that line (defining new) has become grayer for us.”
