After being stopped for the first time in his career, Justin Edwards will drop down to lightweight and look to bounce back at UFC Fight Night 35.

The Mansfield, Ohio native will take on “TUF 13” runner-up Ramsey Nijem on Jan. 15 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga. The UFC announced the fight on Sunday evening.

In his last fight, Edwards was defeated by TKO in the first round by Brandon Thatch at UFC Fight Night 27 in August. With the loss, “Fast Eddie” dropped to 2-3 in his UFC career.

Edwards and Nijem were both coached by Junior dos Santos on “TUF 13.” Edwards would lose to eventual champion Tony Ferguson in the first round and Nijem would lose to Ferguson in the finals.

Nijem is coming off back-to-back losses to James Vick and Myles Jury this year. “Stripper Ramsey” is now 3-3 in his UFC career.

UFC Fight Night 35 is expected to be headlined by a middleweight fight between Luke Rockhold and Costa Philippou. Also on the card, TJ Dillashaw will take on Mike Easton and Lorenz Larkin will take on Brad Tavares.
